A new research article published in Food Research International by PhD Candidate Revathy Gurusamy
September 4, 2026In this video, Hamza Ali Imran, PhD candidate in the SERENADE Project, explains how his research combines Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) gas sensors, Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve food freshness detection.
By analysing the gases released during food spoilage and the corresponding sensor responses, his work aims to identify different stages of the spoilage process more accurately.
Combining enhanced sensing capabilities with AI could provide more detailed and reliable information, contributing to smarter solutions for monitoring food quality and freshness.
