The journey continues: next joint secondment at VITO
August 19, 2026In this new video, Luigi Masi (DC3) explains how his research is contributing to the development of smart food monitoring technologies within the SERENADE Project.
His work focuses on MOS gas sensors and how their performance can be enhanced to more accurately detect the volatile compounds released by food as it changes over time. By optimising these sensors and developing innovative operating strategies, Luigi’s research aims to improve food quality assessment, laying the foundation for more reliable and sustainable solutions to help reduce food waste.
At SERENADE, every doctoral candidate brings specialised expertise that strengthens our interdisciplinary network and helps transform cutting-edge research into real-world impact.
