Reduced-energy processing of PLA/Talc biocomposites: Comparing in-mold crystallization and IR annealing
July 20, 2026In this video, Hadi Saniei, PhD candidate (DC6) in the SERENADE Project, explains how his research addresses one of the main limitations of polylactic acid (PLA), a compostable polymer derived from renewable resources. By tailoring the material’s crystallinity, his work aims to improve its thermal resistance and durability, enabling the development of more sustainable, food-safe packaging solutions that reduce the environmental impact of conventional fossil-based plastics.
